ABOUT

Join us this fall as we host our 2nd annual Sunburst Races -  Elkhart! Our 5-mile road race will offer long sleeve technical shirts, finisher medals and (optimistically thinking) cool, crisp, runner-friendly temps. The race begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2022, and finishes at Elkhart Health & Aquatics (located at 200 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516). Runners will enjoy scenic views of Elkhart along the St. Joseph River, the beautiful and vibrant River District, and other areas of the city. 

After finishing, runners may treat themselves to some post-race snacks and cheer on their fellow runners to an enthusiastic finish.  A brief awards ceremony will take place around 9:45 a.m. (weather permitting) for age group award winners and our top overall male/female winners. 

PACKET PICKUP

Packets will be available for pickup on Saturday, October 1 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Elkhart Health & Aquatics. Enter on The Commons side/east side of the facility (doors near the flagpole).  

Packets will also be available race morning outside in the orange and purple Sunburst tent. Arrive early if you're picking up race morning. 

SHIRT DEADLINE

To be guaranteed a shirt, runners must be registered by September 21. 

VOLUNTEERS

As with all events, we could use some extra assistance. Volunteer opportunities are available in the following areas: start/finish line, water stop, and course marshals. If you have any questions regarding volunteer opportunities, please email us at [email protected]. You can also register yourself online as a volunteer. 

MISC. 

No pets allowed (due to safety and liability reasons). 

Strollers are allowed, but users must remain at the back of the pack for safety.

Participants may walk this event if they can maintain our slowest allowable pace of a 16-minute mile.
