Swan Creek Connector Grand Opening 5K!

Come to be first runners and walkers on the new Swan Creek connector trail and be part of the grand opening ceremony!  

Metroparks Toledo is officially opening the 1.5 mile connector trail at Swan Creek on September 10th!  They invited the Toledo Roadrunner Club to be the FIRST to use the trail and be part of the dedication ceremony at 10:30am.  All are welcome, members and non-members!  Join us for this fun, free event!  It will not be timed.  Please register through RunSignup so we have an idea how many are coming to the event.

Meet at the Yager Center located on the south side of the main parking area off Airport Highway at 9:45am.

The plan will be for staggered start so all will arrive at the end of the Swan Creek connector trail located at Byrne Road at 10:30am.  We will "break the tape" together!  You can stay for the short dedication ceremony at 10:30am or head back immediately.  There will be water at the turnaround.  The dedication ceremony will be a media event.

This new trail by Metroparks Toledo is a major milestone and part of an even bigger project.  Since 2020, every Lucas County resident lives within 5 miles of a Metropark.  Metroparks Toledo is building on that fulfilled promise with the the next step to connect all of the parks with trails.  Learn more about the trail and future plans at https://www.13abc.com/2022/08/20/metroparks-meetup-new-trail-new-bridge-new-spot-swan-creek/
