The Swiss Alps 100 is an incredibly beautiful course which runs through the valley, along ridges and over Swiss alpine passes. It's challenging and mostly single trails and fire roads.

The course is inspired by the legendary Leadville 100. Starting in Oberwald at 4,518 feet the course begins with a gradual downhill on farm/fire-roads and single trails. Next up is "The Beast" a 3,700ft climb in only 6.4 miles with 14 switchbacks to the highest point of the race at 8,379ft. The next 23.5 miles traces ridges and skirts peaks along the Swiss Alps with phenomenal views down to the valleys, snowy mountain tops, and glaciers glimpses. Once arriving in the idyllic village of Simplon-Dorf, 50 milers will have reached their goal and get their well deserved medal and finisher t-shirt.

The Swiss Alps 100 100KM is a beautiful course which runs through the valley, along ridges and over Swiss alpine passes and a suspension bridge. It's challenging yet easier than most other ultra marathon events in Switzerland run mostly on single trails and fire roads.
Starting in Münster at 1'327 m.ü.M. (4,353 feet) the course begins with a gradual downhill on farm/fire-roads and single trails. At KM 9 (5.5 miles) runners get the opportunity to cross over the 280 meter (918 feet) suspension bridge Mühlebach - Fürgangen. Next up is "The Beast" a 1'128 meter (3,700ft) climb in only 10.3km (6.4 miles) with 14 switchbacks. On top runners find the Breithorn aid station where 80km runners turn left and 100km runners turn right.

100km runners will then run over the Saflischpass to the Rosswald aid station, around the Fülhorn which is the highest point of this course at 2'734 meter (8,969'), and then down to the Binn aid station where runners can get their drop bag if they have one. The next 25.5km (15.8 miles) traces ridges and skirts peaks along the Swiss Alps with phenomenal views down to the valleys, snowy mountain tops, and glaciers glimpses going all the way to the Stadle aid station back inside the valley. From there the remaining 13.5km (8.3 miles) are run on a slight downhills course. Once arriving back in the idyllic village of Münster, 80km will have reached their goal and get their well deserved medal and free massage.

With a total elevation gain of 11'226 meter (36,830'), 100km runners will have a very generous cutoff time of 24 hours.

The SA 100 course covers 11 municipalities all inside the canton of Valais which is the heart of the Swiss Alps: Obergoms, Münster-Geschinen, Reckingen-Gluringen, Grafschaft, Blitzingen, Niederwald, Bellwald, Ernen, Grengiols, Termen, und Binn
