Taste of Annandale 5K

The course starts at the Kmart parking lot on John Marr Drive, headed along Columbia Pike, through the trails in Mason District Park, and ends up back at the parking lot.  Mark Naylor won the 2019 Taste of Annandale 5K for the third year in a row. The 36-year-old Annandale resident completed the race with a clock time of 19:35.1.  That was slower than his time the previous year (18:11.9) but good enough to beat 134 other runners in the Oct. 5, 2019, race, a major component of the Taste of Annandale Street festival.  The fastest woman was Rachel Kuprenas, who came in sixth place overall. Kuprenas, 26, of Annandale had a time of 21:26.5.  The race has not been scheduled since 2019 due to COVID concerns.  The race was certified by USA Track & Field (certificate #17034RT).  The top three males and females overall in the Taste of Annandale 5K will receive awards, along with the fastest runners in several age categories.
