About the event

The Annual Tiger Trot 5k Run/Walk is a chip timed 5k race and a 1 mile walk to help the children of District 102 schools.  Come for the fun and help raise money and show support for the Marquette Elementary, Rogers Elementary, and Georgetown Middle Schools.

The Tiger Trot will start at 9am on April 3rd near the Independence Park pavilion at 612 Lasalle Blvd in Marquette Heights. This is a challenging course ran around Marquette Heights on the city streets back to the finish line near the pavilion.

Shirt guaranteed to all participants registered before March 22th. Day of race registration is $25.00

There will be a tiger tot trot for the little ones immediately following the last 5k finisher.  Register online now or during packet pickup times for the Tot Trot. There is no charge for this race and parents are encouraged to run with their Tiger Tots. We are still working out the logistics of how to have a tot trot with the current Covid mitigations. More information to come.

Not able to make it to the race? You can still help the kids of District 102 by making a donation. Are you able to make it to the race but the thought of walking or running isn’t that appealing to you? You can still help by signing up to volunteer and help with the race.

Awards will be given for 1st place male and female as well as 1st-3rd in the following age groups both male and female.

13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Police officers, firefighters, and EMTs will receive a $3 off the 5k coupon code. Use the “Questions?” Button below to request the code to use at checkout.

The Tiger Trot is an Illinois Valley Striders Grand Prix Series Race.

Packet pick up will be on Friday April 2nd from 5pm - 6pm at the Independence park parking lot and on race day Saturday April 3rd between 7:30am - 8:45am. We encourage everyone to pick up their packets early. Parking is located at the pavilion and across the street at Marquette Elementary School.

This will be a chip-timed start.
The first wave will start at 9:00am, the second wave at 9:05am, the third at 9:10am, and so on.  At the starting line area, runners will position themselves next to 25 cones that are set with 6+ feet of social distancing behind the start line.
Participants in the first wave will not be allowed into the starting line area until 5 minutes before their assigned start time and are required to keep a distance of at least 6 feet between each person prior to the race start.
