TotalEnergies Murcia Marathon

They changed the route from last year and it’s significantly WORSE. Way too many corners slowing you down and knocking you out of rhythm - only saving grace is that it’s relatively flat. Organisation also very bad. Was chaos at the expo getting the bib and then waiting to get it activated (also not sign posted so wonder how many people didn’t get theirs). Course was also not well sign posted. Didn’t know where the corals were until last minute and towards the end of the marathon where there were less people around there were some corners I didn’t know where to go. Overall wasn’t very impressed as all other marathons I’ve done have been faultless

This is the best organised marathon I’ve ran to date. The staff were great and knew exactly how to help. The expo was fantastic. The checkpoints were fully stocked even for a 5 hour plus runner like myself. Lots of support from the crowd and the gift (runner jacket) and free food (paella) and drinks (including beer) was just brilliant. Although a hot day the route was cleverly organised so we ran 80% in shade. I’ve ran over 100 marathons and I can say this was definitely my favourite road event. Thank you Murcia Marathon for ticking all the boxes!

Beautiful course with lovely mountain views. Checkpoint with everything you could possibly need. Medics and staff on motorcycles checking to see if runners were okay was reassuring. As a slower runner (5 hour plus) it was great to be acknowledged and equally pampered at every step and at the finish… I was made to feel like I had won the race! I can’t praise the staff enough. X

super plana, gente animando, geniales los puntos de agua... por poner una pega, van grupos de militares de una base cercana que corren en formación a su ritmo y no permiten que nadie les adelante cuando la carrera se estrecha. yo no pude coger agua en un punto porque ellos ocupaban todo el espacio. eso la organización no debería permitirlo, pidiendoles que salgan en último lugar, por ejemplo. por lo demás, una carrera perfecta.

Flat and varied views route

The event was very well organised, great entertainment and a nice flat route. Various entertainment throughout the route was fun and I'll come back again!

Well marked route, marshals throughout and a nice flat course

As a first time runner, the event was very well organised, pre-event communication was fantastic and the on-site volunteers were incredible! The route was very well marked throughout, with marshals, police and the military helping with runner and traffic flow.

The route covered a variety of Murcia scenery, running through the heart of the city, as well as past the stadium, through parkland and back along the river. Virtually completely flat, the course would be good for setting personal bests or just enjoying a run through this beautiful city.

Great run , my wife did the half and I did the 10 k . Great fun and we would do again. Down side is the photos , there are loads of them but I can’t find a way to find them by bib number. That may change.
