Trail of the Dragon 50K/50mile Run

Please join us for the inaugural running of the Trail of the Dragon! This run will take place along with the Moorehead Park Trail Mazathon. Course will consist of 10 mile loops on single track dirt and mowed meadow through the rolling hills of our beautiful historic park. 

Participants can expect challenging hills and beautiful scenery while running well-marked and maintained trails. You will be running on some old stage coach trails past the first homestead which served as the stage coach stop and doctor/hospital. Pay your respects as you visit the cemetery of our first settlers and run past a one room school house. 

This race will consist of 10 mile loops with the option of signing up for the 50k, which will consist of three 10 mile loops with a 1 mile out and back; or the 50 Mile option which will consist of five 10 mile loops. 

There will be 2 fully manned aid stations on the loop and 3 unmanned water stations.

Packet pick-up will be at  the Conservation Center at Moorehead Park from 3-6pm on Friday, August 18th.  On the day of the race, packets can be picked up from 5am to 5:45am for the 50 Mile run and 5am to 6:45am for the 50k run at the Conservation Center. 

This event will run inconjunction with the Moorehead Park Trail Mazathon.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Ida County Conservation Foundation.  The Foundations mission is dedicated to fostering relationships between residents and our natural world.
