Tuusula boasts a population of over 36,000 people and nearly 1,900 businesses. The drive from Tuusula to Helsinki takes just half an hour, and to Helsinki-Vantaa airport, a mere quarter. Hyrylä, situated at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi, is the centre of Tuusula. Its red-brick buildings are reminiscent of the garrison tradition, and the valley alongside the Tuusula River and Lake Tuusulanjärvi are both vast recreational areas and the lungs of Hyrylä. Jokela, to the north, has been constructed in a garden-city style and its industrial history is tied to an old brickyard, which has left behind some beautiful pools. The Tuusulanjärven Maraton, hosted in the area since 1994, is an event that runners and spectators alike enjoy. The half-marathon and marathon routes are officially measured, and they pass mainly along the asphalted pedestrian and bicycle paths surrounding the lake. The route also passes by Jean Sibelius's home and offers cultural experiences for both runners and the public. Tuusula and Järvenpää, Finland, offer excellent transport links and plenty of parking space in the surrounding areas. Welcome!
