Get your ugly Christmas sweaters and running shoes ready! Massabesic High School’s National Honor Society is sponsoring its second annual Ugly Sweater 5K! ALL the proceeds of the event will be used to purchase holiday gifts from the giving trees in RSU 57’s schools, libraries, and town halls. Never run/walked/crawled a 5K before? No worries. We’ve got you covered!
The event starts at Massabesic High School’s track on December 5, 2021, at 9:00 am. Be sure to wear your ugliest Christmas sweater! From there, we’ll run/jog/walk through the back roads near the campus. We’ll have signs and volunteers guiding you along the way. When you get back to the track, we’ll have music, a bake sale, and prizes galore!
“I have children who want to run but I think a 5K is too long for them.” No worries! There will be games and alternative shorter runs for kids! Registration is only $10 for kids under the age of 12, which includes a free T-shirt (if registered by November 22, 2021).
“I want to run the 5K but I don’t have anyone to watch my children.” NHS has you covered! Our fun, responsible juniors and seniors will keep your children entertained while you run.
“I want to participate, but I’m not able to make it on December 5th.” No worries! You can walk/jog/run on your own. You choose the course (this can be on a treadmill, around your neighborhood, through the woods…it’s up to you!); you choose the date (sort of—the 5K should be complete by December 5th); you choose your pace, and you choose your attire. The uglier and wackier the “sweater,” the better! You’ll be spreading holiday cheer as you run. Sounds fun, right? As long as you register by November 22nd, you’ll get a free shirt as well.
“I’m not able to participate but I’d like to make a donation.” We have a DONATE section on our website! Sponsors (individuals, families, and businesses) will be mentioned on the back of the shirts as well.
Don’t hesitate and sign up today! Register by November 22, 2021, and receive a FREE T-shirt!
Thank you for making holiday wishes come true for the kids in our community.
