Uppsala Marathon & Half Marathon

Start and finish are at Uppsala Castle and Uppsala Art Museum. The course will be well cut and marked with signs. Officials can be found at water stations and at road crossings. The track is control-measured by federal track surveyor Fredrik Swahn, which ensures that it is 42,195 meters long. The course runs on asphalt, paths and dirt roads. It is a fast track that combines running experience, crowd friendliness and attractions. We hope you will like the track as much as we do! Beautiful and easy-to-run one-lap course in 2022 - start and finish at the castle! In 2022, the route will be largely the same as in 2021, one lap with a start and finish at the castle. Some adjustments will be made to achieve a faster and more weather sensitive distance for both half and full marathons. Planned adjustments to the Marathon distance compared to 2021: Part of the stretch in Hågadalen and the first serpentine stretch at Lurbo will be replaced by a faster and less weather-sensitive flat asphalted cycle path at Vårdsätravägen. After the first lap, the marathon runners will not have to run up to the castle, instead they will pass roughly halfway by Studan and there be joined by the half marathon runners on the other part of the course (similar to 2021). The half marathon will start from the same place as the marathon runners and run south from the castle and then via the hospital road down to Studenternas. This gives you a longer and flatter downhill that can be utilized much better than last year's course when you started steeply downhill from the castle to the north. The course in 2022 will be the fastest in the race's history and, just like before, has a significantly smaller height difference than, for example, the Stockholm Marathon. At the same time, we do not mince our words: Uppsala's own marathon and half marathon race, where we put the experience first!
