WestField Half Marathon

In addition to the 'in-person' race we also offer a 'virtual' race (See https://www.bgcwestfield.org/westfieldhalf  for link to the virtual race. Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield Half Marathon, formerly the Oleksak Lumber Half Marathon, will start at 10:30 a.m. on September 11th, 2021. All runners will be treated to the beautiful landscapes of Westfield, MA located in the foothills of the Berkshires. All Half Marathon runners will receive a unique medal, short sleeve technical shirt, and access to the post-race party at Amelia Park, where results will also be posted. The post-race party will include several types of salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and music! The Westfield Half started in 1994 when a group of runners from the Empire One Running Club approached the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield with the idea of a half marathon fundraiser. Since then, we have seen the Westfield Half grow from 142 to well over 600 runners. In 2011, there were nearly 1,000 participants! We have also added a 10K, 5K run/walk race and children’s race as well. Since that first race 28 years ago, this event has raised nearly $250,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield. Receive text or e-mail alerts as participants cross timing equipment along the course. Signup your family/friends to receive the alerts and if you have spectators they can follow your progress to seek out viewing spots along the course. Tracking alerts are based upon the participant’s bib/chip and participants do not need to carry their phone. The number of alerts varies per course.
