About the event

***** The 23rd ANNUAL is ON for 2024 *****

SATURDAY JULY 27TH - 2024!

Race Description:   < NUE MARATHON DISTANCE too!!! >

A 101 Mile & Marathon distance backcounty mountain bike race in the Bald Eagle and Rothrock State Forests of PA. The course consists of singletrack, doubletrack, and fireroads with a bit of pavement.  We do expect a few changes. The Marathon course is slightly long at 70+ but it without 3 very very large mountains that the Ultra loop has included so with that in mind - it is a FAST 70+. Note start time is now 9 am for Marathon Distance from the Coburn Park. The 101 Mile original start is still 7:00 am. - Marathon 9 am Start.

We will get Marathon Riders drop bags to the aid stations if you check in by Saturday 8:30 am - Stations 3/4/5 only.

2023 Course Maps below - We expect things to be the same for 2024. We are using the new Rt. 322 bypass crossing again to Crowfield Rd. and we have to walk 1) the busy area in Poe Paddy at Aid Station #5 and 2) the final bridge before the last tunnel about 1.5 miles before the finish.

If you are unable to pick up your supplies we can mail them back to you for $30

Participant support - NO - you can NOT follow your "rider" around the course to support. You CAN sign friends/family up to help at an aid station and HELP ALL THE RIDERS!! Our agreement with the USFS to minimally impact the Forest is paramount. This is the only way we can do our part to limit our footprint and not disrupt the sensitive balance of life and user access during this event weekend. Rider disqualification will result if outside support is noted or reported.

For 2024 You are allowed THREE - 1 gallon ziplocks bags to be used as drop bags that we will provide. That includes your lights!!!! If the ziplock cannot seal closed we will not send it onto the aid stations. No camelbak drops allowed unless it fits in one closed gallon ziplock bag. Put a LARGE legible number on your bag before you fill it up. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or missing drop bags.

There is 1 mini water station and 4 full service aid stations complete with food, beverages, and support. The aid stations are what makes this race so much fun. When stopping at a station please do not drop your bike in the road, either keep it between your legs or walk it to the side of the road and place it clear from harms way.

Have friends/family that aren't racing but want to come and help support! Have them sign up for some of our great volunteer positions. We do request if non racers are coming to this event they volunteer a little time to the event. Volunteers are a great aspect to this event as well as all of our other events, so please help out. AGAIN - select personal support outside of the aid station's by those not "volunteering" will result in disqualification.
