The Beaufort Shrimp Festival presents the Run Forrest Run 5K Run/Walk, October 1st, 2016 at 8:00 AM on Bay at Newcastle Streets - Run the course where the movie Forrest Gump was filmed. This Forrest Gump themed 5K will Run through historic downtown Beaufort, beautiful tree covered streets and cross over the famous Woods Memorial bridge. Take your picture with Forrest Gump in the park. Race shirts to all pre-registered participants. A "Box of Chocolates" provided by the Chocolate Tree to the overall winners and shrimp boats to all division winners. Special award to the best Forrest Gump Custume. Free Michelob Ultra beer to all participants over 21 at the Ultra Tent. The Run Forrest Run 5K Bridge Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run are in conjunction with the Beaufort Shrimp Festival scheduled for October 1st & 2nd, 2016. Come and experience the essence of Beaufort!
Event details and schedule
The course is paved and fast, timing provided by the Palmetto Running Company. Awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division. Packet Pick up September 30th, 2016 4-6PM in Waterfront Park or Race morning at the start.
Age Group Awards: 6-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 over
