Chester Springs SprintFest

Looking for a shorter open water swim event?  Want to try out something with a bit more speed to get out of your comfort zone?  Love open water, but you're a sprinter?  Welcome to the inaugural Chester Springs SprintFest, a club event presented by French Creek Racing!

This event will be held at: 1881 Art School Rd., Chester Springs, PA 19425
Parking and directions: Use the GPS address - 1881 Art School Rd., Chester Springs, PA 19425.  If needed, we will have use an overflow parking lot with a short walk back to the race site.

This event features a 200 meter swim course.  Races will include 1, 2, and 3 laps of the swim course.  The SwimRun event will be 3 loops of (200m swim, 1 mile run - consecutively).  Swim events will include a surf dash in a spring-fed reservoir at the start/finish of each lap.

1 Mile Run Course will be cross-country style, mostly on grass and small portions pavement/dirt/gravel.  It's a "Pennsylvania flat" course, meaning that it's the flattest course that could be made on the property.

*Start times are approximate.  We may start heats earlier than scheduled!

Custom overall and age group awards will be given to the top 3 M/F in each classification - overall and 10 year age increments.

Restrooms: There are restroom facilities available on-site, near the water entrance.

There are no cutoff times for this event.  We will have a nutrition station near the water's edge, designed for SwimRun racers, but available for anyone to use.

Course information:
200, 400, and 600m swims are 2, 4, and 6 loops of our swim course, respectively.  At the start/finish of each lap, there is a surf dash with an on-land start and finish.
The SwimRun event begins at 10:15am.
- Format is 200m swim, 1 mile run.  Repeat 3 times.
- There will be no transition area and no transition times will be kept.  You'll simply get swim and run splits.  Transition on either side of the line.
- You may wear your shoes in the swim portion, but it is not required.

We will need approximately 6-8 volunteers (kayakers, lifeguards, and other helpers).  SIGN UP HERE to register as a volunteer.

We will follow the USAT Wetsuit rule of 78º temperature threshold. Should the water temperature exceed 78º, anyone wearing a wetsuit will not be counted in the official results.  Should the water temperature exceed 84º F, no wetsuits may be worn.

When you arrive, check in at our table, take a swim cap, and have your number marked.  New Wave Swim Buoys may be worn by racers (your choice of color).

PLEASE READ: INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:
All races will be held rain or shine. There is no rain date for the event.  If there is a lightning storm in the area, we may elect to delay the start as the facility permits.  If the storm persists, we would cancel the event.  All entries would have the option to defer to the following year's event, or receive a credit toward another event.  We will keep all registrants updated by email as well as posting updates on our Facebook page. If there is light rain during the event, we will still swim.  NO REFUNDS will be issued. If requested at least 7 days in advance, we will be able to transfer your funds to a different training or race event.
