Historic Haunt

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL THE START OF THE RACE ON OCTOBER 19TH.  WE WILL ALSO HAVE RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP AT WHITE HALL FROM 7:30-9:00AM (Cash or Check for In Person Registration).

Join us for the 3rd Annual Historic Haunt 5K & 10K on Saturday, October 19th at 9:00am at White Hall State Park in Madison County/Richmond area.

This is a 10K Race, 5K Run/Walk, and Free Little Goblins Run. There will be overall and age division winners but, more important than that, there will be an atmosphere that encourages everyone from the first runner to the last. It will be a chip timed race, but in the big picture times don’t matter and community does. Help Run Richmond make this an event more than a race.

PACKET PICKUP is Friday, October 18th from 4-7pm at Soft Shoe (Address:  805 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY 40475)  There will also be race day PPU from 7:30-9am on Saturday, October 19th.  You are permitted to pickup for friends/family without credentials, paperwork or IDs.

White Hall State Historic Site was the home of Cassius Marcellus Clay, 19th-century emancipationist, politician, newspaper publisher, Ambassador to Russia, and friend to Abraham Lincoln.  Clay’s daughter, Laura Clay, lived at White Hall and was politically active for women’s suffrage and state’s rights.  In 1920 she became the first woman nominated for President of the United States by a major political party.  The restored Italianate mansion was built in 1798 and remodeled in the 1860s.  General Green Clay built the original brick Georgian-style home called Clermont.  Cassius M. Clay inherited the house upon his father’s passing.  He and his wife Mary Jane Warfield Clay built the new addition that more than doubled the size of the house and added such modern amenities as indoor plumbing and central heating.

 Proceeds from the Historic Haunt will go to the Madison Central Cross Country team, and Health NOW! Clinic.
