The event is quite exciting is a good sense, THE registration fee is very cheap, THE tshirt has good quality the atmosphere was romantic, nice landscapes overall, Montenegró is wonderful. The local people are friendly, and you can run your personal best for sure at this race. I loved the city too. Thank you Montenegró for the GREAT experience.

The only negatív is that it was too hot for the maraton

some organizational problems, very few of the organisers were fluent in english, considering there were a lot of foreign visitors. also , confusion whether therre was an 8Km or 10km race (seemed like 10km ,) ... registration office needs to be explained clearer next time, , medal for othe races appreciated but is the same for 5 or 8/10kms... website crashed twice, before & after marathon.. and access to results delayed..

was advertised as 8km...but think it was 10km

Podgorica Marathon (half) i registered online and paid in advance 10e  - seemed reasonable.. I emailed the "organiser"  to know ow if i could "check in"  at the start point (Danilovgrad) as I was based near tot he road (route to Danilovgrad - Niksic)  and was more convenient to go there - especially as rain was forecast. I eventually found  some "instructions "   2. The half marathon race will start at 10:30 am in Danilovgrad and finish in the Republic Square in Podgorica city center. There will be a bus that will t ransfer all half marathon compet itors. The bus will be located in city center Podgorica at the Republic Square on Slobode St reet . The marathon will begin at 9:00 am and the bus will immediately depart for Danilovgrad at 9:15 am. 3.There will be two check-in centers. Check-in center #1 will be located at City Hotel and will be open from 10:00 am to 21:00 pm on October 28, 2018. Check-in center #2 will be located near the city square in city center at the Elmag Business Center, and will be open from 6:00am to 7:00 am on the day of the race. 4.Competitors who wish to store their bags and equipment may do so in the locker rooms located at the “Official Entry”in the JP City Stadium. The locker roomshave showers as well that will be available if thecompetitors wish to shower after the race. There will also be a tent located in front of the Elmag businesscenter that can be used for storage. 5.There will be medical teams and ambulances throughout the course. A medical team will be located inthe center of Danilovgrad as well as in the center of Podgorica. 6. All part icipants of the marathon and half marathonwill receive a food voucher upon registrat ion. Lunchcan be picked up at 16h, at the parking lot in front ofthe City Hotel."   (from http://www.maraton.co.me/uputstvo/0index.php )  However, by coincidence, i happened to have email contact with another competitor (this was my first ever entry)... who told me she already had her bib on friday...there was no mention of this on the "instructions" and no email replies to me.. NOTE  * "Check in #1 ... was the nearest point closest to me ,  opens at 10 am -  the BUS leaves Podgorica at 09.15 and the half marathon starts at 10.30h from Danilovgrad * check in #2  open only 06-07h on the sunday !!!   do you see a Problem for me..?? so with the benefit of an extra hour,(clocks changed)  I travelled to Podgorica early this morning, BUT the rain was heavy, the start area was almost flooded ...  i got soaked just trying to find anyone who spoke english, and at the 3rd attemnpt found a very small tent where I could get "checked"  ... only ONE person out of 20 or more people i spoke to could speak english (this event attracts global attendance?)  .. its the registration point for all 4 events!! ...  and there was hardly any space  inside the tent for participants ... i gave them my on line registration number (from World marathon)  ...and they  looked confused, and eventually gave me a list for checking my name with hundreds of names , i looked through about 20 pages - all the time standing in the cold (alraedy wet through to my inside t-shirt) .i could not see my name.... about 7h this morning, one of the girls who spoke some english - eventually asked my name, and for my ID card .. and went to check at some office, and came back and told another girl to give me the number 947 - which was seemingly for someone else.. then they asked for 10 euros  - and i told them I paid online- they didnt check that! so after almost half an hour they gave me a "participants bag"  ..and no other comment... I found a dry cover to look inside the bag and found a T-shirt, my number and a certificate... NO food voucher (see item 6)  as there were still several hours to go before the start from Danilovgrad - i luckily founf a taxi, and decided to go back to the house to change into dry clothes, and possibly get to Danilovgrad myself... However,  there are no taxis due to the rain, everyone in Podgorica had booked them... so i missed out... I would like to volunteer to handle foreign participants in the 2019 event...... because the "organisers: " were not ready to cope with this event, on a rainy day... at the end of october.. (i would not worry about the rain when running as I grew up in a fairly wet country :)

I know the route welll, and as I already ran 21kms in training this year , in time of around 1h 40 mins could not only finish, but compete at my category ; (age 50+ ) the route , on a sunny day would be enjoyable, fairly flat ...and with mountains on the side of the route ..

Nudná a nezáživná trasa po magistrále bez diváků. Občerstvení časté, ale pouze voda, cukr a citron, bez iontů. Expo žádné, after party katastrofa. Celkový dojem...už nikdy.
