This run was designed for everyone from the pro athlete to the first timer out to see what all the hype is about. The morning waves are timed they are also qualifying waves for both OCRWC and NorAm Championships (Obstacle Course World Championships and North American Championships)

For OCRWC and NorAm qualifying we will take the top 7 Male/ Female in each age group in competitive waves (50% rule applies) on any age group that does not have more than 14 qualified finishers.

Age Group Awards: There will be an award for the top overall Male and Female. There will also be first, second, and third in each age group. *mandatory obstacle completion and you must finish with your band*

Untimed waves: 11:00, 11:30, and 12:00 are set aside for fun. There are no awards and obstacle completion is NOT mandatory. These waves are set aside for beginners, and those choosing to not compete

Multiple Lap Option

Multiple Lap Option starts at the wave time selected during the registration of the Black Swamp Dash. If you are signed up for a competitive wave your first lap is your timed/ qualifying lap . You will finish your first lap (remove your timing chip) then you can head back out for as many laps as you would like ending at 1:00pm

As for our course we believe that you sign up for an obstacle/mud run for the Obstacles and the Mud or you would just sign up for any old run. Our course consists of 3.2 miles and 26, yes that's right 26 obstacles, not counting the obstacle of the natural terrain. Although we have water, mud, and muck none of it is deep. There is NO swimming and we DO NOT allow diving of any kind.

The big difference in our course is that most obstacles you can choose your own challenge. Here you can choose how far you want to push yourself. Our obstacles have a normal side and an Extreme side. If you're the Extreme athlete looking to push your limits or your the first timer just looking to get off the couch and try something new this is the course for you. All participants receive a Race Jersey, custom medal, 1 free refreshment, and a lot of Black Swamp Mud to take home.

Once done if you choose not to take home all the mud on you, we have dozens of wash stations. There will be live music, Food and ,drinks.

We also have a Moonlight Mud Run Backdrop for that perfect photo to remember the fun.

The Night of the Dead Run Haunted Obstacle/mud run. We are pleased to bring this event back bigger and better than it was in 2018. As this will be a night run, our waves will start at 8 p.m. and go out every 15 minutes until our final wave at 8:45 p.m. Our obstacles will be lit in a variety of ways, and we will have special effect lighting along with music throughout the various sections of the course. Once October comes, the woods transform into a scary, ghostly, eerie place. Once you enter there is no turning back. The unnatural sounds are enough to keep you running. As you near the banks of the river beware of the Black Swamp creatures, but UNLIKE a Zombie run there will be NO ONE CHASING you. You won't need chasing as there will be plenty of activity to scare you. Once again we want you to enjoy all that the course has to offer, take your time we will will not be timing this event.

The Black Swamp 3-Sum is a package deal . All 3 of our unique runs for one low price. When you register for the 3-sum you receive: one entry for the Black Swamp Dash (includes the multi-lap option), one entry for the Moonlight mud run, and one entry for the Night of the Dead run. You also will receive an additional custom Black Swamp 3-Sum shirt.

(The shirts will be given out at the Night of the Dead Run).
