Trail du Hautacam

62KM: The route starts in front of the village hall and the town hall of the village of Beaucens, it heads towards the Donjon des Aigles to reach the neighboring village of Villelongue via the Bédouret fountain and “la passade”. Then you will climb towards the hamlet of Ortiac and the small ruined chapel of Saint Orens. After the plateau and the barns of La Prade you will turn WNW to follow a forced water pipe for about 3 km and on the flat, raise your head, the view of the valley of the gaves is magnificent! You will then climb the splendid Nerbiou ridge from where the panorama stretches as far as Gavarnie, to reach the top of the Hautacam resort. You will then dive towards the lake of Isaby to pass to the Hourquette Neuve and climb the soum of the Siarrouze, you are facing the Estibères massif with the Lascours in your sights. You will go down to Isaby lake which you will go around to the east to head towards the clot du serpent to make a loop and come along the cross-country ski trails of the Tramassel pass. From there you will dive on the Bigaloume ridge which will take you to the villages of Gazost, Ourdon and Ousté in the beautiful valley of Castelloubon. The ascent will be via a long ridge and a series of summits, the soum des Lits, Trézère, Dabantaygue. The end of the route will take you back via Artalens until you reach Beaucens. You will then have completed the Hautacam trail with its 3 edges Nerbiou, Siarrouze, Dabantaygue!
