Viking Ultra Iceland

Experience and overcome exciting challenges and varying landscapes in one of the most scenic countries with the most varying landscapes and geothermal hotspots – Iceland!
Push the boundaries of what your body can do with different landscapes along the course such as steaming rivers, bubbling mud pools, geysers, dramatic volcanic landscapes, lava fields and fields of volcanic ash, the course introduces you to the unique landscapes of Iceland.
The Viking Ultra is the ideal event to introduce you to smaller multi-day events. Iceland's unique landscape provides the perfect backdrop to your 125km three day race. You will need to overcome personal obstacles as well as physical to complete this challenging course.
With the race lasting three days, turn your race into the trip of your lifetime and stay on for longer and tour the country. As the race is very central to many Iceland highlights, including the golden circle, it’s easy to rent a car or hop onto tours from Reykjavik once you finish. If it’s relaxation you are after, there is the Blue Lagoon located near the airport, and many geothermal hot springs dotted around the whole country to visit.
The Viking Ultra starts Saturday 23rd May and finishes Monday 25th May 2020. Race HQ is Grindavik in South West Iceland 30 to 40 minutes from Keflavik International airport. Normally at this time of the year there are longer days and warmer temperatures when compared to the Fire + Ice Ultra in the North of Iceland.
Finish your last day with a relaxing soak to soothe your muscles in the swimming baths at Grindavik heated with geothermal water. Swim and relax in the large heated pool, hot tubs and plunge pool like the locals.
