La réputation de parcours rapide du marathon de Berlin n’est pas usurpée. Eliud Kipchoge a remporté la course ce week-end en 2:04:01. Bien parti pour améliorer le record mondial, il a finalement été handicapé par des semelles qui sortaient de ses chaussures et a du se contenter d’améliorer son record personnel de 3 secondes.
Près de 28 000 coureurs ont pris part à la course.
Eliud Kiptanui (2:05:21) amélioré son temp de plus de deux minutes par rapport à l’année dernière, passant de la 5ème à la deuxième place.
Feyisa Lilesa complète le podium avec un temps de 2:06:57.

Gladys Cherono (2:19:25) établit un nouveau record féminin sur e le parcours. C’était seulement sa deuxième participation à un marathon.
Aberu Kebede prend la deuxième place avec un temps de 2:20:48.
Meseret Hailu (2:24:33) à coiffé Tadelech Bekele (2:25:01) sur la ligne pour prendre la troisième place. Bekele avait déja terminé 4ème l’année dernière.
