Marathon runners will have the unique opportunity to support the environment with a commemorative shirt made from recycled plastic bottles and a medal strap constructed from waste materials. Supported by Qualy, the medals of the four stages will also be produced from recycled materials. The 5km medal is made from used food delivery boxes, the 10km coin is constructed from plastic water bottle caps, the 21km medal is crafted from plastic bags, and the 42km medal is created from PET drinking bottles.
As an added bonus, a portion of the proceeds from the marathon will be donated to the project to build a hospital at Kasetsart University.
