Sierre-Zinal

The Sierre-Zinal is one of the most iconic mountain races in the world, tracing a 31 km alpine route each August through the heart of Switzerland’s Valais Alps. Known as the “Race of the Five 4000ers”, it offers a uniquely challenging profile with 2,200 meters of elevation gain and 1,100 meters of descent, all while runners move beneath five towering peaks: Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Matterhorn, and Dent Blanche. With its demanding course and international prestige, Sierre-Zinal draws elite mountain athletes and dedicated amateurs alike. ESierre-Zinal is one of the oldest mountain races in Europe, first held in 1974, and is a founding event of the Golden Trail World Series.
