Riga, the capital of Latvia will host the 25th edition of its annual marathon this Sunday.
The marathon offers a scenic course on both sides of the river Daugava, the largest river in Latvia, run in the center of the history hanseatic city.
The course is quite flat. The highest you’ll get is when you’ll climb the two bridges to cross the river.
Last year 1237 runners finished the 26.2 mile course.
The marathon starts at 8:30 and has to be completed within the next 6 hours.
Other Distances
The marathon is not the only race organized during the weekend. Runners can also take part in a half marathon, a 10k and a 5K. The 5 km is in fact the most popular race with more than 10,000 participants.
