35,000 Registered Runners From Across The Globe Take On The Las Vegas Strip For The 2019 Humana Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas ...

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 17, 2019) – Approximately 35,000 registered runners from age 12 to 78 took to The Las Vegas Strip for the 11th running of the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. The biggest and best night running event in the world gave runners a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run under the lights of the famed Las Vegas Boulevard, serving as the only private event to shut down The Strip At Night. In the marathon, Tommy Rivers Puzey (Flagstaff, Ariz.) took first-place, clocking a time of 02:28:04. Jacob Krolick (Canyon, Texas) was second with a time of 02:31:25 and Meng-Tsung Chu (Colorado Spring, Colo.) followed in third place finishing in 02:32:09. Heather Bray (Amsterdam, NLD) was the women’s champion with a final time of 03:13:00 with Emily Rollins (Franklin, Tenn.) next behind her at 03:19:42 and Jennifer Creps (Hilliard, Ohio) rounded out the podium in 3:25:11. In the half marathon, Tyler Day (Flagstaff, Ariz.) took the crown with a 01:03:48 effort. Harvey Edward Nelson (Flagstaff, Ariz.) earned second with a time of 01:03:55 while third-place went to Patrick Rizzo (Colorado Springs, Colo.) with a time of 01:07:15. Brittney Feivor (Scottsdale, Ariz.) won the women’s race with a time of 01:13:20. In second-place was Angie Nickerson (Cedar City, Utah) in a time of 01:17:25 and Jessie Vickers (Portland, Ore.) rounding out the podium with a time of 01:17:46 The weekend of running kicked off on Saturday evening with the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K presented by Brooks. Participants of all distances, along with their family and friends were treated to an unforgettable performance from GRAMMY-nominated and Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter, Kesha when she took to the Finish Line Festival stage following the 5K presented by Brooks.

Elite runners and fast times aside, Sunday’s races were all about the party atmosphere. Uptown Funk a Bruno Mars tribute band kicked off Sunday’s race day with a concert in the Start Line Village. Several local bands, including Groove Kitty, Holes and Hearts, KISSED ALIVE, Rat Soup, Jane N The Jungle performed live on band stages along the route interspersed with cheerleaders and themed water stations.
