The Maxi-Race event in Annecy, France hosted the 2015 International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) Trail World Championships. This year the Elite runners had their own separate race, which started 1 hour and 30 minutes earlier than the open race. Saturday at 3:30, in Annecy-le-Vieux, 178 men and 108 women were ready to conquer the world champion title.
At the end of the 86 km race with 5,300m of ascent, French Sylvain Court was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 08:15:38. He finishes with a 3 minute and 28 seconds lead over Spain’s Luis Alberto HERNANDO. The bronze medal goes to another French Patrick BRINGER with a time of 08:21:43.
In the women’s race, France also got the gold medal, thanks to Nathalie MAUCLAIR finishing in 09:30:59. Caroline CHAVEROT crossed the finish line 2 minutes and 22 seconds later to claim the silver medal. And Maite MAYORA from Spain got the bronze medal with a time of 9:39:36
