Double Records at the Hella Hamburg Half Marathon

The race celebrated its 20th anniversary with a record number of participants : 7850.

The men’s race was dominated by Charles Wachira Maina from Kenya who established a new course record in 1:01:41. Daniel Rotich finished second with a time of 1:02:19. Peter Handsome took the third place in 1:02:55.
The previous record was set by Gilbert Kipruto Kirwa (KEN) in 2009: 1:02:37.

Agnes Mutune won the women’s race and also established a new course record with a time of 1:12:46. Diana Phalula Lebo took the second place (1:13:16) and Pamela Cherotich (1:16:24) the third.
The previous record was set by Caroline Chepkwony (KEN) in 2012: 1:13:27.
