Why Fundraise? There are approximately 10,000 children living with a life-threatening medical condition in Virginia. Most will need assistive or adaptive equipment that costs thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Through the generosity of donors and fundraisers like you, SMILE is able to provide children like Jacob, with equipment like a therapeutic stroller enabling him and his family to enjoy family outings without a cumbersome wheelchair. SMILE is able to provide children equipment at a fraction of the price, with an average item costing $2,500.
