This incredible race take the runners from the hot furnace of Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, along a 135 Mile extremely demanding course including 14,600’ (4450m) of cumulative vertical ascent and 6,100’ (1859m) of cumulative descent.
The race starts at Lone Pines, climbs to the summit of Horseshoe Meadow (elev. 10,000 feet / 3048m), runs through the Owens Valley to Cerro Gordo and further before getting back to Lone Pines and finally climbing Mt. Whitney where the finish line is located.
