If you are not already in the UVA area, please wait till after 5:30 Friday night to grab your packet to cut down on the amount of traffic in the area due to UVA employees leaving for the day.

Bibs will be in ALPHABETICAL ORDER.Plan to pick-up your race packet (bib #, t-shirt, bag) at Packet Pick-up on Friday.When you get your bib, make sure to check your name, gender and age on the bib. Old race shirts: We have a lot of old race and volunteer shirts from past 10 Milers for sale.  All shirts are $2 each or 3 for $5.  Old course C10M pint glasses $1 each.  Cash or credit card accepted.

Had your packet mailed and did not receive it?   We’ll have to assign you a new bib number.  Come to either the registration desk at Friday’s packet pickup or to the Orange Subaru race morning. This will be a quick and very simple process.
 
Forget your bib race morning?  It happens, find the Orange Subaru near the start line race morning and we'll get you another bib.

7:15AM Race Start
On Whitehead Road near Chemistry Drive. 


Pace Group Signs: Look for pace sign on either side of the road for paces under 8 minute mile, under 9 minute mile and under 10 minute mile.

Stagger Start:  We will implementing a stagger start by breaking up the start line into 3 groups.  Group 2 will start 1 minute after group 1 leaves the start line.  Group 3 will start 1 minute after group 2 leaves the start line.  There is a significant double back on Alderman Road just after 1 mile mark and just after mile 2.  We hope the stagger start will alleviate the congestion on Alderman Road and make your experience of the new race route pleasant.
 
Road Closures: WHITEHEAD ROAD WILL BE CLOSED from Alderman Road to Stadium Road race morning start at 6:00AM and continue for the duration of the race for safety reasons.

Parking: NO PARKING in the lots off of Whitehead Road and the AFC lot off of Alderman Road.  Vehicles in these lots will be blocked by finishing runners and will not be allowed to leave until the race is over.  Volunteers will be parking in these lots.  Please park in the Student Activities Building Parking Lot, the Lower West Lot, or the upper level of the Bryant Hall lot.   Click here for a map of the allowed parking around Scott Stadium.

At mile 5/7 next to the downtown water stop. 


Create a Team: It’s not too late to create or join a team with 3 of your friends.  How to create/join a team can be found here.

Awards:  Top 3 male/female overall, top master male/female (age 40+), top grand master male and female (age 60+), and the age groups are as follows: 14 & younger, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.   The award ceremony will begin about 9:30AM.  If it's raining it will be under the garage.  If it's sunny and warm it will be located in the East Lot.

Course cutoff:  The course has a 2.5 hour cut off which is a 15 minute mile pace.  If you are unable to hit the the mile marks at the times listed below, you will be asked to move to the sidewalk and obey all traffic signals.

Water stops: Gatorade and water available Mile 2.5, Mile 5, Mile 7, Mile 8.2 and Mile 9 and finish line.

Finisher Medal: All that cross the finish line will receive a medal.  

We have received a few questions about the significance of the numbers on the medal.  This year’s finisher medal honors and pays tribute to the UVA football players who were tragically killed this past November. Lavel Davis Jr. (#1), Devin Chandler (#15), and D’Sean Perry (#41) not only left an impact on the UVA community, but the greater Charlottesville community as well. We stand in solidarity with UVA and we are all #VirginiaStrong together 


Medical Support: Will be at all three water stops, McCormick Rd (miles 2/9), Downtown Mall (miles 5/7) and on Elliewood (mile 8.5) and the finish line

Post Race Food:  Bananas, granola bars, Little Debbie snacks, Duck Donuts, Bodo's Bagels, and much more near the finish line
Water, Gatorade and other drinks will be available at the finish line 

Post race party @ Dairy Market Dairy Market (946 Grady Ave.) will have a post-race After Party! Enjoy a live DJ plus beer from Starr Hill! $1 from each pint purchased at Starr Hill will be donated to our amazing beneficiaries. Dairy Market will also be a watch location during the race if you have family and friends who are looking for a place to cheer you and the other runners on! Dairy Market is located at mile 3.8 on the course.
 

        Established 1976, The Charlottesville Ten Miler is the area's oldest and most prestigious footrace. Widely considered to be the "most scenic urban course" in the state, this rolling tour of Charlottesville brings runners through Jefferson's beautiful UVa "grounds", up Rugby Road, down Preston, up the historic downtown mall, around Court Square and the gorgeous Park Street neighborhoods, up main street and by the famous University "Corner."
