Paris Mountain Half Marathon Paris Mountain State Park October 8th 2022   Welcome to the Annual Paris Mountain Race Series. Paris Mountain is the hidden gem in the Upstate that lies in between the beautiful mountains of the foothills! This trail system extends nearly 13 miles of wide and rugged running dream! At the base of the mountain you will loop around Lake Placid before heading north up the mountain on Mountain Creek trail into Sulphur Springs! This is where the grit of the trail begins and your heart rate rises! Going around the mountain to North Lake and down Kanuga before hitting the toughest portion of Brissy Ridge. This trail will make your legs burn but your adventurous trail junkie side yearning for more! Come see this well kept secret of the Upstate for yourself!   Event Details Packet Pickup at Shelter # 3 begins @ 7:00am Paris Mountain Half Marathon @ 8:00am   Race Goodies All Participants Will Receive: Finisher Medal Custom Race Logo Sticker Upstate Ultra Sticker Upstate Ultra Wristband Pancake Breakfast Camping is offered Complimentary Race Photos Upstate Ultra Socks (optional design)   Race Awards Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom hand made award! Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and custom lanyard. We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series. To learn more about our race series and awards please visit our results page here: HERE   Paris Mountain Course Description Course Map HERE - Elevation Gain is 2300 Feet The Half Marathon will consist of a single 13.1 mile loop starting and finishing at Shelter #3 behind the main parking lot. The total distance covers 2,300 feet of elevation gain, goes around 3 different lakes, ascends 3 gentle climbs. You may see deer, squirrels, birds, snakes, and a variety of other wildlife. The course offers single track dirt, rugged and wide switchbacks, along with steep climbs. There are two waterfalls and 3 beautiful lakes. The course will have a series of directional arrows that will be placed  at all intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course.    Address & Parking The main gate of the state park will be open at 6:30am. You can access the park at this address: 2401 State Park Rd. Greenville, SC 29609. You will need CASH ONLY and EXACT Change if you do not have a state park pass upon admittance. When you enter the park follow the road to the first stop sign where you will follow the parking arrows to the main open lot. In the event the weather is dry all week we will utilize the open field adjacent to Shelter #3 for parking.  After parking please continue to follow the road to the back of the parking lot where there is a small alley access road that leads to Shelter # 3 $6 adults - $3.75 SC seniors - $3.50 children age 6-15 - age 5 & younger are free   Pancake Breakfast
Post race we will be making pancakes for our runners and volunteers! Please bring your own fork and plate.    Aid Stations There are two aid stations on course during the 13 mile loop with the first one coming at mile 4.7 and the 2nd one at mile 10.4. The Aid station will include such items: salt, crackers, cookies, pickles, oranges, water , tailwind, and soda. This is a CUPLESS event as runners are required to have their own hydration carrying bottles or packs. We gladly accept aid station donations of food items that you like to see at races. Our staff is very busy with course marking, timing, packet pickup, and communication with runners, that it does make it hard to prepare some amazing tasty treats in-between laps so feel free to contribute a little slice of heaven if you can! Thank you   Eco-Standard In an effort to be good stewards to mother nature we will not have any of the following items at ANY of our events. This is in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint being placed by endurance events throughout the world. Please have a cup or hydration bottle if you will need to consume water/nutrition during the event. Please bring your own fork/spoon for any post race meals. Please bring your own bags for items collected at the race.   Camping & Admissions: Reservations There are 39 sites are paved, 13 of which offer tent pads. Each site has individual water and electrical hookups. Some sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, others up to 35 feet. The campground is convenient to restroom facilities with hot showers. Camping reservations must be made for a minimum of two nights. Standard Sites with Electricity & Water $6 adults - $3.75 SC seniors - $3.50 children age 6-15 - age 5 & younger are free
