Course highlights

The race starts at Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square). After a leisurely start, enforced by narrow streets, runners cross the Charles Bridge. It is here that the runners are first treated to the sounds of Czech musicians. The race snakes through the delightful Old Town for most of the race skirting into some of the more modern areas of Prague, crossing the Vlatava river on several occasions. After 26 miles the race ultimately ends, to cheering crowds, back in Old Town Square.

I couldn't have asked for a better location for my first marathon! Having grown up in this city, its a beautiful city to run in filled with a lot of memories! One of the highlights for me was running across Charles Bridge. Great crowd cheering the runners on, and a very well organised event overall, with great speed in providing refreshments and fuel! Only downside was running over a main road for a big chunk of the time, which is to be expected but not the most scenic. Overall, a great first race for me!

It was my first marathon that I have ever run and I felt I managed well on the given route!

very good organization with constant updates, the route is magical apart from 1-2 small parts of the route, there are people at most points of the route and many water and food points along the route, the route has small ups and downs but there are many the most difficult part of the race is the road, which is 70% stone or paved, at the starting point there are changing rooms (two large kiosks, 1 for men and 1 for women), the photo booth was quite large and worth buying p.s. the start has many blocks with the result that you have up to 1km distance from the first check point

Unfortunately there was not supporting groups from the company organizing the event and that was heartbreaking mostly from 18th kilometer and after, that a runner needs encouragement!

The route had many sections running through the stone paving making it difficult for foot joints especially for those having knee issues or injuries

Beaultiful city, but how bad it is to run on cobblestones and train tracks. Running through the historic center is very cool. Congratulations.

Start a little messy and hydration stations only on one side.
