About the event
The 1st Annual Rural Heritage Center Fun Run and 2x4 will take place on Saturday, February 16th, 2019, at 8:00 am. All proceeds will benefit the Rural Heritage Center and its mission to engage families and community in cultural and educational experiences by preserving rural traditions which teach lessons for present and future generations. This inaugural race will be run in memory of Sherry Ann Goode-Carmell. Sherry taught quilting classes at the Rural Heritage Center and ran numerous quilt shows, while creating the Seminole County Centennial Quilt which is now displayed on the wall in the Rural Heritage Center Great Hall. She loved the Rural Heritage Center, and all profits from her quilt shows were donated back to the RHC in an effort to preserve the cultural uniqueness of rural Geneva. On race day, her numerous quilts will be on display for all to see and remember her amazing talent and her dedication to the RHC.
