About the event
Every year, the EDP Porto Marathon welcomes thousands of runners from around the globe. It is one of the most iconic events in Portugal, held since 2004, usually in November. The course offers a unique combination of seaside and riverside running, with a flat and fast route that passes through three neighboring cities: Porto, Matosinhos, and V. N. Gaia. Participants can marvel at the beauty of the region, from the historic center of Ribeira do Porto, to the renowned Douro Demarcated Region and its famous Porto wine cellars. The most recent edition of the event had over 10,000 athletes from 72 countries in attendance. We invite you to visit Porto, a city with an incredibly rich history, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage in 1996, and awarded the "Best European Destination" title three times, in 2012, 2014 and 2017. Come run the EDP Porto Marathon and experience the magic of the city!

Deso Gelmisa grinded past more than 3895 runners to win in 02:09:08. He finished une minute 48 secondes ahead of Victor Kiplimo. Rounding out the top three was Debele Belda with a time of 02:14:22.
In the ladies race, Bontu Bekele Gada got a win, finishing with a time of 02:33:38 . She finished 5 minutes 36 secondes ahead of Mestawot Tadesse. Genet Getaneh got the third place in 02:40:59.

ROBERT CHEMONGES won the race with a time of 02:09:05. OLIVIER IRABARUTA secured second in this year’s race with a time of 02:09:48. FIKADU KEBEDE got the third place in 02:10:41.
In the ladies race, ABEBA-TEKULU GEBREMESKEL took top honours by finishing the race in 02:30:13 . MESKEREM ABERA HUNDE earned runner-up honours with a time of 02:33:50. The third place went to ELVANIE NIMBONA with a time of 02:44:24

Monica Jepkoech set a new course record at Porto's Marathon

Hugo Filipe Nunes Gonçalves outran roughly 4552 runners to win with a time of 03:05:27. Jackson Limo secured second in this year’s race with a time of 02:11:34. The third place went to Daniel Pinheiro with a time of 02:17:57
In the women’s race, Monica Jepkoech scored victory with a time of 02:26:58, setting a new record for the course. She bested Salome Rocha who crossed the finish line 4 minutes 3 seconds behind her. Finishing third was Chaltu Bedo Negashu (02:43:41).
