Cycle Flanders Fields is based in the stunning seaside town of Nieuwpoort, located just 40 minutes away from Calais. With three different distances - 45km, 90km and 180km - this one-lap event offers something for athletes of all abilities. The 180K route partially follows the World Tour Classic ‘Ghent-Wevelgem’ course, giving riders the opportunity to ride the iconic cobbled streets and Kemmelberg. Beginning and ending in the city centre, the routes traverse the World War 1 front line towards Diksmuide, Ypres, and the Menin Gate. Throughout the course, riders will pass various monuments and cemeteries that commemorate those who lost their lives for freedom. The world class 180km course is a unique 1 lap route absorbing everything the historic west of Belgium has to offer. The route covers a part of the World Tour Classic ‘Ghent-Wevelgem’ course. It's your chance to follow in your hero's footsteps attempting the famous "cobbled streets" and the celebrated Kemmelberg.
Starting and finishing in the city centre, riders head southwest following the World War 1 front line toward Diksmuide, Ypres and the sobering Menin Gate.
