Eldslóðin

Eldslóðin is an off-road race taking place in the breathtaking Icelandic nature, close to the outskirts of a city. The event starts at Vífilsstaðavatn, and leads participants to Búrfellsgjá, Helgafell, then back to Vífilsstaðir. The track has been designed in a way that will be a challenge for experienced runners, while still being beautiful and rich in scenery, with a gentler incline than some of the other off-road races. Two shorter courses are also available, to provide a fun day out for both beginners and seasoned competitors alike in Heiðmörk. You may choose between 5km, 9km, and 28km options, with an additional team competition option, in which four competitors run the 28km lap, and their collective time counts as their team score, as well as their individual one. As with all Viking events, safety, organisation, and enjoyment are the priority.
