The Hare and Tortoise New Quarter Park 5K

The Hare and Tortoise Run/Walk is an annual event held to support ovarian cancer screening, treatment, and education for uninsured and underinsured women in the Williamsburg community. Organized by the O’Hare and Whitten families, the event commemorates Karene O’Hare and Bitsy Whitten, who lost their lives to ovarian cancer. Funds raised are allocated to the Lackey Clinic and the Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center and contribute to an endowment fund supporting ongoing ovarian cancer healthcare. Participants can compete in-person or virtually in various events, with all proceeds enhancing local cancer support services.
