Let's Get Physical!

Come get physically active with the Wheeling Jesuit Physical Therapy students on Saturday, November 11th at Wheeling Jesuit University for our eleventh annual Let’s Get Physical 5K Fun Run.  This exciting event encourages the whole community—whether you are a weekend warrior, a running newbie, a seasoned athlete just not ready for XC season to end, new to running, a power walker, a leisurely walker, a kiddo, a grandparent, and truly anyone in between—to get out and active!  New this year: get together as a team of three (one male, one female, and one walker) for our CoOp Challenge and triple your fun!

Family friendly

Make it a family affair and participate in this healthy and totally family-friendly activity! Childcare is provided.  A 100-yd trot is available for children 6 and under and a 1 mile walk/run for children 12 and under.  There will also be free all-levels, beginner friendly yoga to warm up before the race and afterward for a cool-down lead by a certified instructor.  Free and delicious refreshments are provided at the end of your run ... YUM!

Veterans Welcome

To express our gratitude for your service, all veterans get free race entry!  Family members of veterans race at discounted rates.

Win prizes

On top of the race, we will be hosting a raffle with over 50 items (all of a $20 value or more), from gift cards and themed baskets to Penguins tickets! Raffle tickets are only a dollar each.

100yd Trot begins at 8:05am

Parking

Ample parking available adjacent to the Alma Grace McDonough Center.

Packet Pickup & Registration

Avoid the crowds and pick up your packet on Friday, November 10th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Alma Grace McDonough Center.  Day-of-race packet pickup and registration is 6:15am -7:45am on Saturday November 11th at the Alma Grace McDonough Center.

Course

5k course on Wheeling Jesuit University's campus. The course will be hilly and include cross country portions along Wheeling Creek.  100 yard kids' trot in front of the Alma Grace McDonough Center. Kids' 1 mile run/walk will be an off-road cross country course and includes 1 hill.

Awards

Special award to top three overall 5K runners
Medals to top 3 male and female 5K walkers & runners
Medals to top 3 overall 1-mile runners
Kid medals for all Trotters

Raffle

Packets contain 5 tickets.  Not racing?  You can still enjoy the raffle!  Tons of awesome prizes ($20+ value) - gift cards, themed baskets, Penguins tickets and more!  Raffle tickets are only $1 each.  Purchase extra tickets before and after the race!  Winning raffle numbers announced after the race in the Alma GraceMcDonough Gym. Winners must be present to claim their prizes.

Yoga

Free warm-up yoga stretching starts at 7:15 am in the Alma GraceMcDonough Center.  Free Cool-down yoga class after the race in the Alma Grace McDonough Center.  Drop in!

Activities

Bring the whole family! Childcare is provided during the race.  Kid-friendly activity station, corn hole and other family-friendly options will be offered in the Alma GraceMcDonough Gym.
