About the event
The Welwyn Half Marathon and 10K offer an inspiring race experience set against the backdrop of autumn in Hertfordshire. Both events start and finish on the professional 400m athletics track at Gosling Sports Park, creating a high-energy launch and a memorable finish. The half marathon follows a scenic route through the leafy outskirts of Welwyn and features a peaceful stretch along the traffic-free Cole-Green Way, a disused railway turned perfect running path. The 10K, introduced more recently, shares the initial 5K before heading back, making it an ideal option for runners of all levels. The event offers chip timing, a UK Athletics race license, warm-up sessions from personal trainers, and a welcoming finish line atmosphere—including a professional commentator and on-site catering.
