About the event
The Los Angeles Marathon is one of the nation’s five largest marathons, drawing over 26,000 participants to the streets of LA each spring. Since 1986, the race has become a Southern California institution, famed for its “Stadium to the Stars” course—now beginning at Dodger Stadium and finishing amid the skyscrapers of Century City. Runners experience a dynamic urban route that passes iconic landmarks like Echo Park, Hollywood Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, and the Sunset Strip, cheered on by lively crowds, live music, and spirited neighborhood block parties. The gender-based “Marathon Chase” adds a unique twist for elites, offering a $10,000 bonus for the first to cross the line. Notable programs like Students Run LA empower thousands of local youth to train and compete, while the Legacy Runners, those who’ve completed every edition, highlight the event’s rich history. A multi-day Health & Fitness Expo is part of the event experience.
