Torremolinos Half Marathon

This is a nice route and well executed race. I read about the "Hill of Doom" in an earlier review and yea, it's real. You have to chuckle about the spanish line up at package pick up, spanish line up for your race medal, spanish line up for water, oranges and bananas and finally the spanish line up to enter your data to recieve your personalised tag for your finisher medal. After that I wasn't up to looking for the food line or the massage line. Please this is not a rant, it's just how it works in this country, it needs to be embraced.

Nice very long downhills to make time and catch your breath. Great volenteers, lots of medics available if needed and great police traffic control

Great vibe and very enjoyable. The last hill at the end of the race is tough—steep and long. The rest is relatively easy.

A different route this year? A very enjoyable course, challenging in places with a good twist at the end 😀 Fab running along the promenade.

A really great event in a lovely location. So many local volunteers on the course holding signs with arrows at every possible point. Aid stations with water and fruit every 5km. The route starts up in the town at the cultural centre and you do a few small up and down hills over the first 6km but nothing crazy (lovely views of the mountains at the start). Then you move down torwards the seafront and km 10-16 is on the passeo all along the water with lots of locals and holiday makers out supporting and cheering on runners. Just as you hit the last km there’s a hill back up into town, it’s not the most pleasant but once you get up it, you’re almost finished so its worth giving one final push. I believe there was approx 2300 runners on the day and it was enough that you were never crowded when running but there was always still people around you. The cut off time was 2hrs30, I ran 2hrs22 and there was plenty of people around and behind me. Also, im sure there were plenty of people who finished after the cut off time and ecerything was kept open for them at the finish line. (Possibly they had to move to the footpaths but I don’t know for sure) everything was well organised and there was a really fun atmosphere around town after the race. The only possible negatives would be the queueing time for collecting race packs the day before, i waited over an hour. And on the morning of the race there were not enough toilets. Apart from this, everything was fantastic. And an absolute bargain at €20, Will be back next year!

Well organized, for the most part a good route, but the hills over the last 1-2k are shockers. Overall a good event.

It was one of the best half marathons I run to date. Ok the route is hillie so maybe not one to go for your PB but the organisation was second to none with the help of the commune and volunteers. Great scenic route by the beach. Great drinks and food after. 2500 competitors in total. I will be there next year!

Fantastic technical running t-shirt included in race entry. Lively race village at the start/finish. Should be chip-timed as it was very congested at the start of the race and I ended up walking a bit as there was no room to run. Lovely section along the sea front with lots of spectators cheering on.

A classic half on a good course with some interesting but fair hills . Fab location and afrer events really really good.

I did the 5k too and loved both!

A Half Marathon that’s a Perfect Warm up for a Spring Marathon

Lovely setting in Torremolinos in the winter. It’s mostly flat but there is sharp descent at the start and a very steep 600m in the last kilometre. It needs to be a chip start as it’s very congested in the first 2K and it took me 20 seconds to get over the start line.

It was a very well organised race. Last year it was chip timed but this year you got the gun start time. Our club comes every year and we’ll continue to do so.

It's a well organized event with great crowds and amazing view the never ending hill of doom at kilometer 20 is a bit of a killer 🤣 I'll definitely be booking for 2025

This could be a the best opportunity to race in another country.
