Escape to a tropical island oasis where you can have the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure! The BSP Aitutaki Marathon 'Pursuit in Paradise' event offers three race courses that wind through the enchanting island of Aitutaki, taking in all its natural beauty with every step. Whether you're looking for a 10km course, a half marathon of 21.1km, or a full 42.2km marathon experience, there's something for all levels of runners and walkers alike.
Hosted by the Turama Pacific Travel Group's event management department Destination Management Cook Islands (DMCK), this paradise island event is growing a fearsome reputation on the international marathon scene as a must for those seeking a unique and thrilling experience.
There is a special pasta night for runners and supporters on the evening before the race, and complimentary transfers will be provided to get you to the start line. After crossing the finish line, runners will be treated to coconut juice, water, and tropical fruit.
Take a break from the running and head out for a day on Aitutaki's stunning lagoon. People have long used the waters of the lagoon to soothe aching muscles and joints. Afterward, there will be an official prize giving, dinner, and entertainment.
All the action concludes with a 5km fun run, starting after all planes have left. Runs will start at 5pm and head south to the end of the runway and back, after which those inclined can return to the Aitutaki Golf Club for a couple of cold ones.
