Samoa International Marathon - Samoa

Point to point Flat for two-thirds of the race, rolling hills in the middle. Scenic coastal run at the finish and Lava fields. Event prize giving and show on race day. Marathon - Starts at the historical village of Sapapali’i. This is where the missionaries that brought Christianity to Samoa landed on 24th August, 1830. The course is flat and coastal for the first 20km and back on the coast for the final 6km. The inland part, 20-36km has some slight hills and long stretches of rural road. Starts in the dark. Mandatory vehicle support for all marathon runners. Half Marathon - starts at the Pu’apu’a village wilderness after the road leaves the coast. There are long straights and a few hills in the first 10km. There is a long downhill to the Lava fields, the rest of the run, 6km is on the coast.
