9/11 Remembrance 5K Run/Walk

THIS YEAR IS THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY!

DATE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2021

THERE ARE THREE RACE OPTIONS: a 3.1 mile in-person race at Hull Park in Traverse City or a 3 mile or 11 mile virtual run.

Your registration dollars will go directly to creating programs that focus on teaching the importance of mental health, self-care and self-monitoring for our local first responders. We need your participation to make a difference in the community! 

We have changed the location of the in-person event this year to Hull Park in beautiful downtown Traverse City. This will keep our participants safe from street traffic while offering beautiful scenery along the east side of the Boardman Lake Tart Trail. Parking is available at the Traverse City Library, Hull Park and at the Filling Station. 

Race Start: 8:46am when the first tower was hit on September 11, 2001 

Bib pickup for the in-person race will be on Friday, September 10th at Running Fit, downtown Traverse City on Front Street & Park Street from 4-6pm. You can also pick up your bib on race day at Hull Park starting at 8am. 

There will be late registration on race day starting at 8am. The cost will be $35 and we will take cash, check and credit cards. 

For Virtual Participants: you can run or walk in the event anytime now through midnight on September 11th. There is no course, run wherever you'd like! To post your results, go to our Race Page Results Tab and submit your results on September 11th. There will be no packet pickup for Virtual participants but you will be mailed a finisher medal after the race. 

The 9/11 run is to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks, as well as Local First Responders. Proceeds will go to the Grand Traverse Region Public Safety Alliance. This non-profit fund was set up to recognize emotional wellness and develop programs for our first responders (Police, Fire, EMS, Emergency Management, 911 Dispatchers and Coast Guard).
