About the event
Join the Saratoga Mountain Bike Association (SMBA) for the Mighty SMBA Challenge! Embrace the thrill of riding at Daniels Road State Forest (DRSF) and support the development of a multi-purpose trail aimed at enhancing maintenance and emergency rescues while connecting Skidmore trails to the Graphite Range network.Although the Mighty Challenge isn't a race, it’s a prime opportunity to blend community spirit with your passion for biking. Engage in friendly competition while prioritizing safety and respecting fellow trail enthusiasts.
The adventure kicks off from the Artisanal trailhead at DRSF, with a start and finish on Sniffer, the new connector trail. Riders will launch in staggered groups beginning at 9am, with further details provided upon registration.
Choose your path with two exciting routes designed to match your skill level:
- Intermediate Loop: A fun yet demanding 10-mile circuit on the network’s southern side, requiring technical skills and expected to take over 2 hours.
- Advanced Loop: A formidable 20-mile journey through both the northern and southern network sections, promising a rigorous test of your endurance and technical expertise, lasting over 4 hours.
This self-supported ride will feature marked intersections, but it's advisable to download route files from Trailforks or familiarize yourself with the course beforehand. SMBA representatives will also be present to assist along the way.
Registration includes a tasty burger (or vegetarian Beyond Burger), chips, and refreshing beer from Artisanal Brew Works. Plus, you’ll get a raffle ticket for exciting prizes post-ride, with additional tickets available for purchase.
Jumpstart your morning with free coffee courtesy of Death Wish Coffee. Due to limited parking at the Artisanal trailhead, consider carpooling or biking to the event.
Remember, trails remain open to the public, so let's share them considerately. Rain or shine, DRSF promises an unforgettable ride!
