The Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid is Spain’s largest and most iconic endurance race, drawing over 45,000 runners from more than 110 countries. First held in 1978, the event has grown into a global celebration of running, offering Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K distances through the heart of the Spanish capital. The course winds past some of Madrid’s most recognizable landmarks, including the Royal Palace, Retiro Park, and Puerta del Sol—making every kilometer both scenic and storied. With challenging elevation changes that test even seasoned runners, the route earns high praise for both its beauty and spirit. More than 30 live music stages line the course, while tens of thousands of spectators fill the streets, turning race day into a high-energy citywide festival. Organized by AD. MAPOMA and part of the world-renowned Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series, this event blends elite-level competition with mass participation for all levels of runners.

Abdela Godana Gemeda took top spot in 02:10:14. He finished 41 secondes ahead of Abayneh Ayele Woldegiorgis. Debeko Dakamo Dasa got the third place in 02:10:59.
In the women’s race, Kasu Bitew Lemeneh won the race with a time of 02:29:08 . Jackline Chelal earned runner-up honours with a time of 02:29:22. While Selam Fente Gebre came in third at 02:32:43
