Questions & Answers

Question?: Can I register on Race Day?

Answer: YES. Race day registration is $35.00. Come before 8:30 am, so we can check you in, assign you a Bib # and give you your goodies!

Question?: Do I get a "Finisher Medal" if I walk in the 5K or 10K?

Answer: YES. It does not matter if you run or walk; the minute you cross the Finish Line, you will receive your shiny, beautiful "Finisher Medal that you earned for coming out to this event.

Question?: How far is a 5K and a 10K?

Answer: A 5K is 3.1 miles long & a 10K is 6.2 Miles long.

Question?: Will there be a bag check or a place I can store my belongings?:

Answer: NO. It is essential to lock items in your vehicle or truck of your car. Parking and the Start/Finish line are very close.

Question?: Is there a time limit to finishing the courses?:

Answer: YES. Streets must be cleared by 12 Noon. You will have plenty of time to complete the course. That will not be an issue.

Question?: Is the YMCA  a Non-Profit organization?:

Answer: YES. The YMCA and "LIVESTRONG" are 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organizations.

Question?: What is a chip-timed event?:

Answer: You will have a timing chip located on the back of your Bib #, which records your start time when you walk/run over the timing mat at the start of the Race/Walk, as well as when you walk/run across the Finish Line mat located at the end of the race/walk! It does not matter if you START upfront or in the back because your time does not officially start until you walk over the mat located at the Start/Finish Line mat, and your time will not STOP until you walk/run across the Finish mat located at the end of the course!

Question?: How do I get my Race/Walk stuff?:

Answer: Packet pick-up is held one day before the event AND the morning of the event. Everything you need will be in your packet. Packets may also be picked up on race day before the race starts. Avoiding the line and picking your packet up before race day is always good.

Question?: What is Double Dipping?

Answer: If you win any Award/Medal, you may not win a 2nd Award. If you take 1st Place Overall, you will not win 1st Place in your Age Category.

Question?: Will the event be held if it rains?

Answer: Yes. The Race/Walk is a rain-or-shine event! All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a raincoat or hat.
